Grade 9 Mathematics – Number Systems
COURSE OVERVIEW
In this course, learners will strengthen their understanding of the number system and develop the skills needed to work confidently with different types of numbers.
Learners will explore natural numbers, whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, irrational numbers and real numbers, while investigating how these number sets are related.
The course also develops learners’ ability to work with factors, multiples, prime numbers and number properties, and to apply number concepts when solving mathematical problems.
Through video lessons, worked examples, quizzes, practice activities and a mastery test, learners will develop the number skills required for more advanced Grade 9 Mathematics.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, learners should be able to:
- Identify and classify different types of numbers.
- Distinguish between natural, whole, integer, rational, irrational and real numbers.
- Understand relationships between different number sets.
- Represent and compare numbers appropriately.
- Work with factors and multiples.
- Identify prime and composite numbers.
- Apply number properties correctly.
- Use number concepts to solve mathematical problems.
