COURSE OVERVIEW

In this course, learners will develop a strong understanding of data collection and how information is gathered for statistical investigations.

Learners will learn what data is, distinguish between different types and sources of data, identify populations and samples, develop appropriate questions for collecting information, and understand different methods that can be used to collect reliable data.

The course provides the foundation for the rest of the Data Handling section, where learners will learn how to organise, summarise, represent and interpret collected data.

The course includes video lessons, worked examples, quizzes and a mastery test to strengthen learners’ statistical reasoning and prepare them for Grade 8 CAPS Mathematics assessments.
