COURSE OVERVIEW

This course develops learners’ ability to calculate and apply the area of two-dimensional geometric figures.

Learners will work with triangles, quadrilaterals, circles and composite figures while developing the ability to select appropriate formulas, determine missing dimensions and solve algebraic and real-world measurement problems.

Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the difference between area and perimeter, using correct square units, converting between units of area and applying measurement concepts in unfamiliar diagrams.

Through structured video lessons, worked examples, quizzes, exam-style questions and a mastery assessment, learners will develop the area and measurement skills required for Grade 9 examinations and FET Phase Mathematics.
