Grade 9 Mathematics – Geometry of Straight Lines

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course develops learners’ understanding of the angle relationships formed when straight lines intersect and when parallel lines are cut by a transversal.

Learners will apply properties of angles on straight lines, vertically opposite angles, corresponding angles, alternate angles and co-interior angles to calculate unknown values and solve geometric problems.

Particular emphasis is placed on geometric reasoning and mathematical justification. Learners will not only calculate unknown angles but will also be expected to provide the correct geometric reason for each step.

Through structured video lessons, worked examples, quizzes, exam-style questions and a mastery assessment, learners will develop the geometric reasoning required for Grade 9 examinations and FET Phase Mathematics.
