Grade 9 Mathematics – Transformations

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course develops learners’ understanding of geometric transformations and how shapes can be moved and represented on the Cartesian plane.

Learners will investigate translations, reflections and rotations, describe transformations using appropriate mathematical language, and determine the coordinates of transformed points and figures.

The course develops learners’ spatial reasoning and coordinate geometry skills while reinforcing important concepts such as position, direction, symmetry and orientation.

Through structured video lessons, worked examples, quizzes, exam-style questions and a mastery assessment, learners will develop the transformation skills required for Grade 9 examinations and further geometry in the FET Phase.
